Ricevo fresca fresca da Google Press la notizia della messa online di Google Video, nuovo servizio dei genii di Mountain View che “Enables Users to Search TV Content From PBS, the NBA, FoxNews, C-SPAN, and Others”.
Secondo Larry Page questo strumento si propone di fare con la TV quello che Google ha fatto con il web.
In pratica il tool fornisce screenshot della puntata più recente del programma TV ricercato e una sorta di cronaca che evidenzia gli avvenimenti salienti e ne indica il minuto: una sorta di sintesi paragonabile a quelle delle partie di calcio.
Così a caldo non riesco bene a capire l’utilità della cosa, ma forse non ho letto tutto bene o non ho fatto abbastanza ricerche. Se l’hanno fatto avranno i loro buoni motivi!

Utilità? Non so. Una potrebbe essere quella descritta da Repubblica:
“Ad esempio, è possibile cercare la parola chiave “bush” all’interno del “Late Show” della Cbs per leggere le battute di David Letterman sul presidente statunitense. L’estratto testuale è accompagnato dal fermo immagine corrispondente. Google Video non permette, per ora, di vedere brani filmati.
Una possibilità che dovrebbe invece comparire su Yahoo!”
